Pastors lambast Oritshejafor over attack on Ayodele

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Oritshejafor, has been lambasted by some clerics over his outburst against the founder of INRI Evangelical Church of God, Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele.
In separate press statements made available to Saturday Independent on Friday, Pastor Simon Oluwaleke of The Word and Faith Ministries, Ibadan, and Pastor Wole Adigun, a Lagos-based cleric lashed out at Oritshejafor for resorting to what they referred to as “name calling” over an advice offered him by Ayodele on the affairs of CAN.
According to them, the view expressed by Ayodele that the CAN president was becoming political in his approach as the leader of the Christian body was in line with the position of the Catholic Church in Nigeria earlier in the year.

They challenged the CAN president whom they said lacked understanding of prophecies from a prophet ordained by God to tell Nigerians the impact of his leadership on an average Christian in the country rather than speaking through “a paid agent.”
Oluwaleke said: “I read with total disgust and uncharitable public ethical conduct, Oritshejafor’s views as expressed by his aide, Elder Sunday Oibe, against Primate Ayodele in a recent interview in a national daily (not Saturday Independent). Instead of seeking harmonious relationship among the Christian fold, the comment exposed Oritshejafor and his cohorts’ blind approach to the administration of CAN, now more or less an extension of President Goodluck Jonathan’s office.
“Sunday Oibe should note that the primate is not a desperate person running from pillar to post seeking attention of government or its agents nor a self-styled pastor, who would rather stick to convenience at the Villa at the expense of wining souls for Christ.”
Adigun added that Ayodele rather than joining issues with the CAN president is busy reeling out empowerment, shelter, relief package, youth capacity building, orphanage schemes out of which over 315,000 Nigerians have benefitted, apart from scholarship for over 50,000 indigents students in tertiary institutions....
