"I am an old woman in the play and in real life. I am 73. The society doesn't think older women exist anymore, nobody thinks they feel anything. The people around old women never realize they are going through a turmoil, nobody cares about them. So what I am trying to portray is that it's not over until it is over. That an old woman is still alive in more ways than one, they still have sexual urges, people forget an old woman is human. An old woman enjoys her sexual life more when she no longer thinks about children's school fees, when the children have all gone to their husband's houses or in some cases the boys have married and it remains only the old woman and her husband. It never crosses our mind that these old parents can still get on whenever they like. Do you know that when an old man realizes he is free from child bearing, he becomes promiscuous and they are susceptible to all kinds of diseases. UPDATE: Director Admits to and Apologizes for PHISICALLY Assaulting Actress Nuong Faalong and Asks to Settle the Case Out of Court..
The assault case reported earlier between a Nigerian Director Prince Gbenga and actress Nuong Faalong is still developing but as of today, the director and production house have apologized to the actress and agreed to settle her medical bills so she will drop the charges…
The director admits to having physically assaulted the actress and insists he had no intentions of doing so but things unfortunately led to that happening.
The case of physical assault was also confirmed by a doctor at the police hospital. GhanaCelebrities.Com has obtained the relevant police and medical documents in relation to the case…
The actress has since received medical treatment but has declined to return to the set of the said production.
Meanwhile, Director Prince Gbenga has been granted bail and released.
We hope this serves as a lesson to both actresses and directors to respect each other on set no matter how helpless the other person may seem. And nobody needs to assault another for whatever reason…

Kabiru Sokoto Wants Pardon, Writes Jonathan
Convicted Boko Haram member, Kabiru Sokoto has pleaded with President
Jonathan to grant him presidential pardon because he is innocent of what he was
convicted for. He also said he promises to assist the government in its efforts
to end Boko Haram sect.
Kabiru was convicted on a two-count terrorism charge and was
found guilty of facilitating the commission of terrorism acts and concealing
information from security agencies on the December 25th, 2011 bombing of St
Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State.
The letter reads:
“Your Excellency sir, an innocent man was convicted by the
court on the date aforementioned. It is for this singular reason that we are
applying to you for Presidential pardon in the circumstance pursuant to your
exclusive legitimate constitutional powers as enshrined in your golden
conscience and under Section 175(a) and (b) of the Constitution.
“Your Excellency sir, we are applying for respite and pardon
for the convicted felon Kabiru Umar (alias Kabiru Sokoto) because we have
absolute faith in your compassion and highest sense of fairness, equity and
justice first as a God-fearing man and next, as the leader of the most
compassionate nation on earth.
“Had Kabiru Sokoto been sentenced in open court for the
corporate acts of Boko Haram as a terrorist organsiation, we would not have
spared a thought to make this application, but he was sentenced alone for acts
committed by other members of Boko Haram (an organization that was only
proscribed after his arrest, detention and the making of his no-case submission
before the Federal High Court, Abuja division.)
Bricklayer Beats 12-year-old Relative to Death in Lagos (Photo)
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Mr. Paul Obiefule, for allegedly beating his 12-year-old relative, Onyedikachi Mbanozo, to death on Monday evening around 8.30pm. Onyedikachi, Obiefule’s wife’s brother, was staying with Obiefule, a bricklayer, and his wife on Omitola Street in the Agege area of Lagos.
Punch reports that a neighbor, who identified himself as Mr. Oje Owode, said the boy died from an accumulation of floggings which he received from his aunt’s husband. Onyedika, who was attending Irewole Primary School in Agege, could not go to school for several weeks before his death as a
result of a sickness sustained from series of beatings.
Oje the neighbor said:
“The man (Obiefule) usually flogged the boy like an animal. Most times, we tried to intervene, but he would not listen to us. The boy fell sick several times from Obiefule’s merciless flogging. The last sickness was for over two weeks. And then on Monday again, the man beat the sick boy, and locked him up in the room. Later, we just saw that Obiefule and his wife went out of the house and did not return until around 5am. We noticed that he put a big bundle on his shoulder and smuggled it in with his wife.
We did not know that the boy had died in the evening and they were looking for where to dump him all night. That was when we raised the alarm and reported him to the police.”

Leadership reports that trouble started when the woman who had told her husband she was travelling out of town later returned home to find her husband in the company of his lover, Stella Boise having sex on their matrimonial bed. The woman challenged Boise to discontinue the illicit affair with her
husband and this did not go down with Boise who allegedly poured water, which doctors treating the victim at a private hospital, confirmed was laced with chemical suspected to be acid.
Spokesman of the police command, DSP Celestina Kalu who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was arrested by men of the state criminal investigation department in her lover’s house.

The public relations officer of the state police command, DSP Celestina Kalu who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said they were arrested while allegedly having sex with one another at their hideout. The police spokesperson who explained that the suspects were caught naked, averred that the hideout harbours perpetrators of various criminal activities especially lesbianism.
She said the suspects who confessed to the crime during interrogation, claimed they were in it as a way to eke a living. Kalu further said the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the hideout is operated as a pub to ward off suspicion by the public and operators of the spot who have been making brisk business in the last two years, employ thugs who stand sentry at the gate and collect fees from those willing to be exposed to the illicit sexual activities at the hideout.
Teenage girls from neighbouring communities and states reportedly troop to the hideout at night where after smoking and drinking, they engage in sexual acts with patrons who pay them heavily.

Gunmen Kill 4 Policemen, Bank Manager in Rivers
Suspected armed robbers shot and killed four policemen and a middle-aged man identified as a regional manager of a new generation bank in Rivers State Wednesday.
THISDAY gathered that the incident took place at about 9:45am at the Igwuruta Roundabout in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.
The bank manager was said to be in a Toyota Hilux Van with the policemen conveying unspecified amount of money to another destination when the suspected robbers, who had laid ambush for them, attacked them, killing all five occupants of the vehicle.

Good News: U.S Embassy Announces New Visa Process
The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has announced a new visa renewal process.
According to a statement released by the
embassy on Tuesday in Lagos, the new visa process, tagged Expanded DHL
Drop Box Visa programme, is for applicants who want to renew their
visas.
It was also stated that the new process would commence on June 2.
The statement reads: “The U.S. Mission to
Nigeria is pleased to announce the expanded DHL Drop Box Visa Renewal
Programme on June 2, 2014.
“This programme allows certain visa applicants
who have previously been issued U.S. visas to renew their visas without
attending an interview.
“The programme now covers B1/B2 visas that
have expired not more than two years prior to re-issuance and F, L and H
visas that have expired not more than one year prior to re-issuance,’’
it said.
The embassy also advised applicants to visit
the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria’s Website for information on the needed
criteria for renewals.
It, however, said that the consulate might
request the applicants to attend visa interviews in some cases, adding
that applicants’ participation in the programme was not a guarantee for
visa issuance.WHAT! Nigerian Director Physically and Sexually Assaults Ghanaian Actress-Nuong Faalong on Set
On the morning of Monday, 26th May 2014 at about 12 noon, I was reliably informed that actress Nuong Faalong also known as Edith Faalong had walked off the set of a popular series and terminated her contract with the production company.
She left the set in tears after the director of the series -Prince Amuni Gbenga a Nigerian had barged into her private room while she was in her underwear and proceeded to manhandle her resulting in her sustaining a cut and swollen upper lip.
Luckily for the actress, she was not alone in the hotel room. Her room-mate who was asleep in the bed, got up just in time to save her from further assault as the rest of the cast and crew also rushed into the room to restrain the director.
When we spoke to the actress, she said she had reported the incident to the Dansoman Police headquarters and the said director had been summoned pending investigations.
As to whether she would complete the job, she said, “My welfare is paramount and the production cannot guarantee that presently”
What annoys us most about this incident is why a director will think he has so much power over an actress such that he can go as far as physically abusing her without fear and in front of another person? Does he think he is really too invincible to be dealt with?

Kim Jong-un executes Architects over collapsed North Korean building which killed 500
The 23-storey building which killed more than 500 people,housed high-ranking intelligence and police officials.Kim was said to have had sleepless nights since the collapse which is thought to have been caused by poor workmanship.
Tokyo Shimbun newspaper reports that,the key officials and engineers behind the building of the apartment complex ,four design and construction engineers were executed by firing squad and a military official in charge of the project was sent to a prison camp.
This is not the first time he is executing people.Last year, he executed his uncle for alleged treason and reportedly wiped out all his family down to kids..

Nollywood Director Teco Benson loses Brother in South Africa
Award winning director cum producer Teco Benson, loss his younger brother Chinedu some days ago in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In his words
“The loss of my younger brother Chinedu in Johannesburg is still like a movie. I am yet to come to terms with the fact that I will not see or hear from him again. In obedience, I give thanks to God. He is all knowing!”
His publicist Don Saint who confirmed the sad news to Diamond Celebrities, said he died of raised blood pressure…
and they are now making plans to bring his body back to Nigeria. May his soul rest in peace with the Lord.
We pray that God will console his entire family in this time of grief!

Policemen die after attack by motorcyclists in Festac,Lagos
A resident told Punch that the incident was a reaction by the riders to the alleged regular harassment of the residents of the area.The police have always gone there to raid and extort the riders.He said the officers were men of the Rapid Response Squad, attached to Area E Police Command.
“On this fateful day, the police came again around 2.30am on motorcycles and with a truck.As usual, they started seizing motorcycles, clothes and money. They carried their loads and other things. It was while this was on that one of the people decided to raise the alarm, and people came out and attacked them.”Corroborating the claim, a police source said
“The policemen were on patrol that night and had arrested some motorcycle riders. They were moving out, when some Hausa men around the 7th Avenue, apparently angry, came after them and attacked the officers with weapons.”One of the murdered police officers was identified as Inspector Bashiru.It was learnt that while Bashiru died instantly, the sergeant gave up on Wednesday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.
