My name is Chinyere,  for some stupid reason I didn't like my name as a  child,

I grew up in a very toxic environment where pure love hardly exist, everyone always picked on me, for one thing or the other,  I spent most of my days thinking that something was wrong with me, I felt abnormal.

It's either I talk to much or I am too slim or I am too fair etc..

At the age of 8, One of my relation (let's call her Ada) once said tome, "I hate you"! 

I asked her "why"? She replied because all the people by the name Chinyere, I have come across are liars, thieves,  promiscuous etc.

I smiled and left, but something died in me, from that moment, I hated my name, there's this negative vibe I used to feel at the sound of my name and wanted to change my name soo badly that I started going for the baptismal class and did my baptism.

The student, Augustina Ndaago, was found with her lover who is currently in Police custody.

The young dad says he has been to various organizations and churches and no one is doing enough to help his baby, he decided to sit on the road and beg strangers to come to their rescue.

Her school confirmed the Kidnap .

Ghanaian Kills His Employee/ Girlfriend?

A 44-year-old Ghanaian living in the US, by the name  Daniel Kankam, has been charged for the alleged murder of his girlfriend because she wanted to break up with him.

Prosecutors presented evidence on Thursday that Kankam, a married father of two in Alexandria, Virginia, who owns a security company shot and killed his 35-year-old girlfriend Somaya Hussein Ahmed.

Police say Kankam killed Ahmed at her home in the unit block of South Van Dorn Street in Alexandria just before midnight on January 11.

Ghana has overtaken Nigeria as the largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment..

Ghana has overtaken Nigeria as the largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment for 2018, according to new United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Ghana Investments Promotions Authority (GIPC), CEO, Yoofi Grant was talking to BBC Pidgin and said "we establish clear pathway to growth plus macro-economic policies."

"We make sure say our economy dey inspire trust then confidence inside our investors…we wan make Ghana an attractive destination for West Africa so that our strategy go dey attract more investors." Mr Grant said.

The reports that was monitored by global investments trends revealed that Ghana ssecurd $3.3 billion, while Nigerian recorded  36% decline in FDI plus $2.2billion dollars.

Meanwhile, Egypt recorded the highest FDI investment for Africa, dem move from $7.4billion to $7.9billion investments for areas like real estate, food processing, oil and gas then renewable energy.

Chris Brown Arrested in France..

Brown and two others, who were not identified, were arrested today, Tuesday in Paris on allegations of aggravated rape and drug violations, a French judicial source told CNN.

No charges have been filed against any of them, the prosecutor's office said, but the investigation is ongoing.

The US Embassy in Paris has declined to comment on Brown's arrest.
The singer was later released  from police custody  and he issued a statement on his Instagram account on Tuesday denying the accusations...

Nigeria Minimum Wage Increases to #27k while Passport Increases to #70K

The Nigeria Federal government finally completed the long awaiting minimum wage issue and they settled for #27, 000 and on the other hand,  the issuing of Passport has increased to #70k because according to them, there were some modifications that have been added to it to minimize fraud/scam/impersonation.

*well I think that 27k naira is too small as a salary in this present time  and the modifications that were made on the Passport is of no use as the passport already has the fingerprints coding.

Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo was fined almost 19 million euros ($28.7 million) for tax fraud on Tuesday but will avoid serving a 23-month prison sentence after agreeing to a deal.

Saskatchewan Issues New Invitation....

Saskatchewan is a province in Canada, they have the rights to choose people that fits into what they want  and now this province has issued new invitations to Express Entry.

In-Demand Occupation candidates Saskatchewan has issued 596 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in its first Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand draws of 2019.

A total of 362 invitations went to candidates in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)’s Express Entry sub-category, which is linked to the federal Express Entry system and allows Saskatchewan to nominate eligible candidates for permanent residence.

Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry ranking score, which effectively assures an invitation from the Government of Canada to apply for permanent residence.

Performing Marriages In Nigeria vs Canada...

Marriage legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship, most times between a man and a woman.

I noticed that in Nigeria,  almost all the churches in Nigeria are allowed to perform marriages, they don't need any authorization to do so. Though Nigerian religious/traditional weddings are recognized as common law partners outside Nigeria.

While in Canada, Religious weddings are recognized if they are given the authorization to do so and very few Churches are given this authorization,  most people wed at the court.

Ritualist Den Uncovered in Ekiti State, Nigeria

The ritualist shrine located around Crown Polytechnic area, was uncovered by a team of Policemen led by the Commissioner, Asuquo Amba.

The discovery of the ritualist den happened few days after the CP declared total war on the evil perpetrators during the recent parading of 50 criminals.

Proof of settlement funds requirement increases for Canadian Express Entry candidates

The Government of Canada has introduced a slight increase to its settlement funds requirement and is urging Express Entry candidates to ensure their profiles reflect the change. The increase raises the required minimum settlement funds by just over 1.5 per cent for each family level.

For a single person arriving unaccompanied in Canada, this translates to an increase from $12,474 to $12,669.

Kirk is dead ‘Canada is appalled’

Kirk Woodman, who was from Halifax, was abducted after nightfall Tuesday by a dozen gunmen on a mining site owned by Vancouver-based Progress Minerals near the border with Niger. 

 It’s an area that the government says is under growing threat from armed jihadists.

“It’s the Canadian that was found last night in the province of Oudalan,” spokesman Jean Paul Badoumsaid said, adding Woodman’s body was found alone and with bullet wounds.

Kirk Woodman lives in Halifax but has been working in the mining industry in West Africa according to his LinkedIn profile.

The family of a Halifax man who was kidnapped in northern Burkina Faso on Tuesday says they are hopeful Canadian authorities will bring him home safely.

Kirk Woodman works for Progress Minerals Inc., a mining company based in White Rock, B.C. 

CEO Adam Spencer confirmed to CBC News that Woodman is based in Halifax but declined to comment further.
Woodman's family said in a statement that they will not be speaking publicly and asked for privacy.
"We have faith and trust in Canadian authorities to bring our husband and father home safe. We are hopeful for a fast resolution to the situation."
