Nurse killed after N1.5m ransom paid to abductors

                                                       
A 43 year-old kidnap victim, Bridget Osawaru, has been allegedly murdered by her abductors after they collected N1.5 million ransom from her family members.
Bridget, a nurse, was abducted at her residence along Sapele Road in Benin City on 10 December.
It was gathered that family members of the late nurse had paid the ransom money three days after her abduction, hoping that she would be released to them immediately.
The late Bridget’s body was found near Okhuahie hill, located along Benin/Asaba expressway, in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State.
Edo State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Moses Eguavoen could not be reached on phone for comment.
A source at the Command headquarters who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that stabbing wounds like were found on her body.
The source added that the police are working on the theory that she could have been murdered by her abductors and that the case has been transferred to the homicide section at the State Police headquarters.
Kidnapping in Edo state carries the maximum death penalty.
