David Moyes Has Been Sacked, Ryan Giggs will take temporary charge until the end of the season,

  
David Moyes has been sacked by Manchester United with immediate effect.
Chief executive Ed Woodward arrived at Carrington at 8am on Tuesday morning to inform the Scot face-to-face of the news.

Moyes had already been informed of his fate and thanked club staff at the training complex in anticipation of his departure. The players were not present at the time.
A tweet on the club's official Twitter account read: 'BREAKING: Manchester United announces that David Moyes has left the club. The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role.'

Ryan Giggs will take temporary charge for the rest of the season as interim manager.
It emerged on Monday that United's owners, the Glazer family, had lost patience with Moyes after a dismal season that has seen the reigning Barclays Premier League champions slump to seventh in the table.
The final straw was Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Everton, their 11th in the Barclays Premier League this season, and a result that left the title holders 13 points off the Champions League places.

The British Homeland Security has deported Mrs.Helen Ukpabio, the President and Founder of one of Nigeria’s largest Pentecostal churches believed to be leading the spread of witch-hunting in the country. A United Kingdom based human right activist and charity worker, Ms. Modupe Debbie Ariyo announced this in a one paragraph sentence via her Facebook page on April 17,2014
Ukpabio, who arrived London last week for a chain of three weeks deliverance service barely held two of her services when the press and human right activist got wind of her presence and mission to the United Kingdom and invaded her deliverance service with placards. This was followed by protests and petition to the British Home Secretary.

Peter And Paul Okoye's (Psquare) fight gets messier, Peter Wants Out Of Psquare., Lawyer Has been Invited to divide their property

            

Since Yesterday there has been reports about the friction going on between the Okoye brothers. I didn't take it serious because I thought its a minor thing.

According to findings, Peter Okoye wants out of P-Square and they have even gone as far as inviting a lawyer to divide their fortune and this is according to Ms. IKeji.

Now, let me make this clear. This report is based on what's been happening with the brothers up until right now Saturday April 19th. I don't know what will happen tomorrow, next week or next year but as of right now, Peter Okoye doesn't want anything to do with P-Square. I'm still hoping and many others are, that they will resolve their issues and realize that splitting will do no one good. So hopefully, they will resolve their issues. But I will still go ahead and tell you guys what's happening with the brothers as of now.

First, Peter Okoye has moved out of Squareville mansion in Omole where he lived with his brothers for years and now lives in Lekki Phase 1 with his wife Lola Omotayo and their children. An industry person I spoke with, who knows what's been going on, told me this;

Earthquake hits Mexico

                           A powerful earthquake has hit Mexico City, shaking buildings for at least 30 seconds and causing widespread panic.
The magnitude-7.2 quake was registered at a depth of 24km (15 miles), according to the US Geological Survey.

Its epicentre was in the western state of Guerrero, near the seaside resort of Acapulco
There are no reports of casualties or significant damage, but frightened residents across the Mexican capital fled their homes as the tremor began.
The earthquake was felt in several southern and western Mexican states at 09:27 local time (14:27 GMT).

Held this year on April 6, the festival is a celebration of the penis and fertility in a no-holds-barred kind of way. And it is carried out in a carnivalesque, friendly atmosphere that puts a smile on the face of every visitor.
People parade gigantic phallic-shaped mikoshi (portable Shinto shrines) down the streets during the event, as revelers suck on penis lollipops, buy penis-themed memorabilia and pose with sculptures in the shape of -- you guessed it -- penises.

The headquarters of the PDP, Wadata House in Wuse Zone 2 Abuja was gutted by fire around 8.15 last night. A section of the building, which the party uses as its press center, was completely razed.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisah Metuh, confirmed the incident and said it was not sabotage, but electrical fault. He said the fire started from an air-conditioning unit in one of the cabins and had been put under control by men of the Federal Fire Service.

“The PDP rules out any form of sabotage or attack and hereby wishes to inform all our members and teeming supporters that the fire has since been put under control,’’ Metuh said in a short statement.

A surprise dawn raid on two houses in the Lekki area of Lagos on April 6, yielded the arrest of seven suspects, all undergraduates studying various courses in some of the nation’s tertiary institutions.

The undergraduates, who are within the age-range of 21 and 29 years, include Elete Fred Debi, a 500-level student of Physics/Production Technology of the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. Others are: Ese Iriruaga, 300-level student of Geology,  Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State; Couson Jimmy, 300-level student of Computer Science, Benson Idahosa, University, Benin-City, Edo State; Anthony Onos, 200-level student of Political Science, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State; Omene Stephen, 200l student of Computer Science, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State; Kome Emmanuel, 200l student of Petroleum Engineering, University of Port-Harcourt and Shola Muyiwa of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State.

President Jonathan was supposed to be in Ibadan to felicitate with the Olubadan of Ibadan who turned 100 years today.

The president has left the blast scene and is currently heading to Asokoro General Hospital...

Thirty of the couple’s 30 friends were present at the emotional event, and of them even played the role of priest. After reading his touching vow (“You’re my best friend and you make every part of my day better”), Joseph Guiso sealed the deal with a kiss right on Honey’s wet snout. Now that’s puppy love for ya!

Awww Good news at last.This missing 72 year old woman who was kidnapped & chained in the Ibadan horror den since 2008 has been found at last.If you recall ,after she was released from the den,she walked away without notice and when her grandchildren came from Lagos to get her, no one knew her whereabouts.
 Now,she was found by some mechanics wandering around the Ibadan Toll Gate area.They had read her story in the papers and informed a radio station and the police who took her away .
They say all attempts to speak to her was futile as she kept speaking gibberish

A call has been put to her worried relatives who are soon going to claim her in Ibadan..

The lifeless body of a 300 level Economics student of the Lagos State University (LASU) was found at Ijesha on three days after family and friends declared her missing

Fashola writes Ghana over killing of Nigerian student

  

Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Monday said he had e-mailed the Ghanaian Parliament, requesting it to investigate the recent killing of a Nigerian student in that country.
The governor made the statement in Ikeja, while addressing some students who had come to protest against the hike in Lagos State University fees.
The governor said the killing of the student was unfortunate, adding that the case must not be allowed to be swept under the carpet.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Godwin Ayogu, a 300-level Nigerian student of the Gold Coast University, was recently murdered in Chana by unknown persons.
His body was dumped by the roadside, while the Ghanaian authorities were yet to begin any investigation into the matter.
Fashola said, “The killing of a Nigerian in Ghana is very unfortunate as he was a victim of very mindless violence.

SSS confirms 21 deaths after failed jailbreak by Boko Haram men

Marilyn Ogar, the spokesperson for the Department of State Security Services (SSS) said yesterday that 21 detained terrorists died during the attempted jailbreak at the Service's headquarters in Abuja on Sunday morning.

"Following our earlier releases, it has been established that eighteen (18) casualties were recorded, while two (2) Service personnel sustained serious injuries. Three (3) other detainees who sustained gunshot injuries during the incident have also died.

"Meanwhile, investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the immediate and remote causes.

"We wish to state that the roads leading to the office were cordoned-off to prevent possible assistance from external collaborators. During this period, the precinct of the office and adjoining neighborhoods were thoroughly searched.

"We wish to restate our commitment to the safety of the people and the Nigerian nation at large.” Marilyn Ogar said in a further statement released yesterday

Nigerian lesbian asylum seeker says she faces death sentence if deported

46 year old Nigerian lesbian asylum seeker in the UK, Adejumoke Apata (pictured above), says she risks a death sentence if she is deported to Nigeria.

Ms Apata says she fled Nigeria in 2004 and claims that her girlfriend who refused to go with her, was brutally murdered by vigilantes in 2012.

Before she left Nigeria, Adejumoke said she was subjected to homophobic torture, persecution and a brutal arrest after she was exposed as a gay woman. She claims she was also sentenced to death by stoning for being a lesbian. Continue...

For the family of Mrs Cecilia Obaikhena, it was joy turned sour as their matriarch, who was one of the inmates of the kidnappers’ den released last Saturday, has gone missing again.
When they got the news of the discovery of a kidnappers’ den in Ibadan and saw the picture of their long-lost mother and grandmother adorning the cover of the Sunday Tribune, they were elated. Pronto Victor and Vivian, son and granddaughter respectively, of Cecilia Obaikhena, who was one of the inmates freed from the den, rushed down to Ibadan from their Lagos base to take their matriarch back home.
They got to Ibadan on Tuesday and headed for Soka area where the den was discovered. They searched everywhere for their matriarch but she was no where to be found.

Attempted jailbreak in Abuja this morning: DSS releases statement

The Spokesperson for the Department of State Security Service, Marilyn Ogar, has issued a statement on the attempted jailbreak at the headquarters of the Nigeria’s secret police. Find it below..

At 0715 hours, the Service suspect handler went to the detention facility within the Headquarters to feed the suspects. One of the suspects attempted to disarm him by hitting him at the back of his head with his handcuff. His attempt to escape drew the attention of other guards at the facility who fired some shots to warn and deter others.

The gun shots attracted the attention of the military with whom we have an understanding of mutual assistance in the event of any threat. The Army immediately deployed a team to reinforce our perimeter guards to forestall any external collaborators.

The situation has since been brought under control. Further details will be communicated
