Federal High Court dismisses suit seeking to disqualify Ex-Gov Nnamani as PDP senatorial candidate.
A Federal High Court sitting in Enugu today dismissed a suit seeking to disqualify the former Enugu State governor, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District.
In the suit, the plaintiff, one Chukwunonso Daniel Ogbe had asked the court to declare Dr Nnamani's candidacy invalid for purportedly not presenting himself physically before the Commissioner for Oaths to sign his senatorial nomination form.
In a lengthy judgement, Justice Justice Buba Mohammed held that the plaintiff's case had no foundation, lacked in substance and was totally misconceived. He awarded a cost N250,000 in favour of the first and second defendants, Dr. Nnamani and the PDP, respectively.
