Most African Women especially in the 1980s are guilty of protecting the rapist,instead of the girl-child especially when their husband or sons happens to be the rapist.
This is the story of An orphan who we are going to call Lucy:
Lucy is a young orphan who lost both parents at birth and she was adopted by her parent`s friend, This foster parent was very wealthy and had so many people living with them,
At the age of 4, Lucy noticed that someone would come in the dark to touch her inappropriately but she doesn't know who it was because everywhere was dark, so she felt someone was trying to play tricks on her to see if she will get scared,She could shout who is there and no one will reply, So she complained to one of the ladies (her Nanny kinda, we will call her Charity) that someone always come to touch her feet at night and the lady replied it might be rats running around and truly there were rats in the house as at that time .
One day the hands came again and Lucy caught the hands and screamed who is this, the person ran away and she complained to the Charity that its a human being that has been touching her and not a rat as she presumed earlier but charity brushed her claims aside until Lucy was finally raped at the age of 6, she woke up to feel so much pain in her private parts and some bloodstain on her pants which she showed Charity but .....
